USFWS Baton Rouge and the GCPO LCC used GIS models and telemetry data to create a Spawning Habitat Suitability Index which helps locate potential spawning areas of alligator gar. LSU masters student in collaboration with USFWS and GCPOLCC, investigated fish-habitat relationships and identified aquatic habitat conditions that promote healthy alligator gar populations.
