{"id":754,"date":"2016-08-11T16:52:59","date_gmt":"2016-08-11T16:52:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sd.fisheries.org\/?p=754"},"modified":"2016-08-11T16:52:59","modified_gmt":"2016-08-11T16:52:59","slug":"vote-in-the-2016-sdafs-officer-elections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oldunitsstaging.fisheries.org\/sd\/2016\/08\/11\/vote-in-the-2016-sdafs-officer-elections\/","title":{"rendered":"Vote in the 2016 SDAFS Officer Elections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The annual election for Southern Division officers is currently open, and\u00a0voting will be available until <strong>September 1<\/strong><strong>4, 2016<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All SDAFS members who have paid their annual 2016 dues to the AFS Bethesda office are eligible to vote<\/strong>. <strong>Only students (who have paid their 2016 dues) can vote for the Student Representative to the SDAFS Executive Committee:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Voting is found at the survey site:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/ZP9RRZ2\">https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/ZP9RRZ2<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Please see the SDAFS newsletter for the candidate statements and their \u00a0pictures (with fishes):\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/sd.fisheries.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/SDAFS-Summer-2016-Newsletter.pdf\">http:\/\/sd.fisheries.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/SDAFS-Summer-2016-Newsletter.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are\u00a0three positions to be filled this year:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vice President (2 candidates)<\/li>\n<li>Secretary-Treasurer (2 candidates)<\/li>\n<li>Candidates for Student Representative on SDAFS Executive Committee ( 4 candidates)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Vice President, through succession, will become President in two years.\u00a0 The Secretary-Treasurer is a two year position, and the Student Representative to Excom is a one-year appointment. All of these positions are important to the operation of the Division and the Society.<\/p>\n<p>Please exercise your right to vote! Vote early but you can only vote once.<br \/>\nLast year 215 members voted in the election and only 41 students voted.
