In 2023, the AFS<\/span><\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span><\/span>BES Education Committee, in partnership with <\/span><\/span><\/span>ASCE-<\/span><\/span><\/span>EWRI\/<\/span><\/span><\/span>AFS-<\/span><\/span><\/span>BES Joint Committee <\/span><\/span><\/span>on Fisheries Science and Engineering (the Joint Committee) <\/span><\/span><\/span>created two sets of tools for upcoming Fisheries Engineering and Science Professionals.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

The Fish Passage <\/span><\/span><\/span>Training Portal is intended to serve as a \u201cfirst-stop<\/span><\/span><\/span> shop<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span> to search for  trainings in the fields of fish passage and river restoration<\/span>. <\/span><\/span><\/span>The purpose of this Portal is to house a user-friendly compilation of links to available<\/span> training<\/span>s, focusing on project implementation at all phases of a project. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A series of for implementing fish passage and habitat projects as a service to our community of practice, particularly newer practitioners and on the ground project managers. These checklists are provided with the intent of fostering more successful projects with fewer missteps and less backtracking.  Each provides guidelines for stepping through the feasibility assessment, design, or project management of different project types.<\/p>\n

Nine project-specific checklists have been compiled in Excel spreadsheets to assist fish passage practitioners and are provided for download below. <\/p>\n
