{"id":11,"date":"2018-07-24T19:55:50","date_gmt":"2018-07-24T23:55:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/virtuallearn.wpengine.com\/fishpassagejointcommittee\/?page_id=11"},"modified":"2023-04-12T12:46:19","modified_gmt":"2023-04-12T16:46:19","slug":"our-mission","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/oldunitsstaging.fisheries.org\/fishpassagejointcommittee\/about\/our-mission\/","title":{"rendered":"Our Mission"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"row xs-nav-layout\">\n<div class=\"col-lg-14 col-sm-18\">\n<div class=\"content-main\">\n<p>The primary purpose of establishing a Joint Committee on Fisheries Engineering and Science is to create a professional \u2018home\u2019 for fisheries engineers and scientists within the American Society of Civil Engineers-Environmental and Water Resources Institute (ASCE-EWRI) and the American Fisheries Society-Bioengineering Section (AFS-BES).<\/p>\n<p>Fisheries Engineering is a broad field that includes, but is not limited to, work and research in fish passage, fish screening, hydropower technology, habitat protection and restoration, fishing gear and bycatch reduction, and hatchery and aquaculture technology.
